Deep South Austin - Melissa Sellers

Deep South Austin

Melissa Sellers debut CD.

Deep South Austin is a fine collection of songs performed by Melissa. Her traditional country roots shines through on this CD with her vocals and her selection of songs. A real winner for her debut CD!

Maverick Music Magazine October 2006
Another Texas singer-songwriter with an album that we missed when first released is Melissa Sellers and her debut DEEP SOUTH AUSTIN. Raised onreal country music, Melissa grew up in the Houston area picking and singing with her mother and two brothers. When she was ten, her family moved to the Austin, Texas area where she continued performing with the family band singing the songs of Loretta Lynn, Pasty Cline and Tammy Wynette. Nine years ago she formed the Melissa Sellers band and started writing her own songs. This album was recorded at the famed Pedernales Studio that Willie Nelson uses and features songs penned by Melissa, her mother, Poodle Lynn, Ray Frushay and Billy Joe Shaver. Its a loose sounding Texas album with great versions of Shavers Live Forever, a fine duet with Kevin Fowler (Socks and Underwear) and a bluesy Think Again. Another highly recommended disc.
